Out and About in Baltimore.

Parks: Patterson Park is one of the oldest parks in Baltimore, spanning 300 years of the city’s spirited history. Bikers, joggers, and all pedestrians can take advantage of the park's admirably smooth pathways. The star attractions are the boat lake (in which people are allowed to fish, if you have a license, although this is rarely enforced), the marble fountain, the General Casimir Pulaski Monument, and the Pagoda, also known as the Patterson Park observatory, which has a great view of the city and is considered to be a very nice building aesthetically. The sports fields are open for use to anyone who wants to play a game, and there are public tennis courts as well. Two playgrounds are also in the park, and there is a swimming pool open during the summer, and a skating rink during winter. Federal Hill Park was a well known lookout during the Civil War and the War of 1812 lies on the south side of the Inner Harbor - Federal Hill. Now a historic park, it features fantastic views of the entire Baltimore Inner Harbor area. Mt. Vernon Park is also nearby.

Airports/Transportation: Baltimore Washington International Airport is located conveniently in the city of Baltimore for all of your international traveling needs. You can also hop on the Penn Station (Amtrak), Penn Station (MARC), or the Light Rail Charm City Circulator to get around town.

Elementary Schools: There are several great schools to choose from when trying to decide where to send your child. One of our favorites in the Baltimore area is Federal Hill Preparatory School doesn’t just help students pass standardized tests, but also prepares children for a lifetime of learning. They utilize proven instructional methods from around the world, and give their students the knowledge and skills they need to be good citizens today and community leaders tomorrow.

Middle Schools: Mount Royal Elementary & Middle School has a passion for excellence and for developing young minds. They strive to see that thier students are exposed to the very best teachers and staff, a curriculum that supports the acquisition of knowledge to enhance academic growth and development, and a safe and orderly learning environment. Midtown Academy was founded in 1997, and is a public, K-8 charter school located in central Baltimore City's Midtown community.

High Schools: The Baltimore School for the Arts provides talented students from all parts of the community with a personally supportive and intellectually challenging environment where rigorous training in a specific arts discipline combines with a college preparatory academic education. Baltimore Freedom Academy is a 6-12 citywide public charter school. BFA was founded on the ideals that young people can make a positive change in their world when given the chance to do so. Thier students engage in educational activities that develop their problem-solving skills and build their self confidence as learners.

Colleges/Universities: The University of Maryland, Baltimore, (also known as UMB) was founded in 1807 and comprises some of the oldest professional schools in the nation and world. The University of Baltimore (UB), located in downtown Baltimore, in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood, is part of the University System of Maryland. UB has transformed from an upper division university to a traditional university. The Johns Hopkins University, commonly referred to as Johns Hopkins, JHU, or Hopkins, is a private research university based in Baltimore, that maintains campuses in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Italy, China, and Singapore. Towson University, often referred to as TU or Towson for short, is an American public university located in Towson in Baltimore County, and is part of the University System of Maryland. The University has evolved into a 4-year degree granting institution consisting of 8 colleges with over 20,000 students enrolled and is the second largest public university in Maryland. Maryland Institute College of Art is A top visual arts college in the United States.

Restaurants: The Capital Grille boasts an award-winning wine list of more than 5,000 bottles and offers both elegant, fine dining and a lively, social atmosphere in their bar as well. You can visit the Hard Rock Cafe for a burger and a dose of rock n’ roll history. Check out our other neighborhood favorites like: Fogo De Chao, Cheesecake Factory, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and XS.

Sports Venues: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the beautiful baseball-only facility in downtown Baltimore, became the official home of the Orioles on April 6, 1992. M&T Bank Stadium is located at the south point of Camden Yards and is, by far, one of the most-advanced of the NFL's premier sporting facilities.

Shopping: Visit Harborplace Mall for the very best shopping, dining and entertainment in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Whole Foods Market is the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods. Other great stores in the area include: Bin 604 Wine Sellers a boutique wine store specializing in little known bargain wines, collectible wines and low yield vintner, Su Casa, contemporary furniture store, and South Moon Under.

Museums: Walters Art Museum has paintings, sculptures, art objects and artifacts from around the world and throughout the ages, including more than 30000 objects. American Visionary Art Museum is America's official national museum and education center for intuitive, self-taught artistry. The Baltimore Museum of Industry covers airplanes, cars, civil rights, space exploration, and how things are made. Port Discovery and B&O Railroad Museum are just a few of our other favorite museums in the Baltimore area.

Entertainment: Catch a movie at the Landmark Theater, or check out the IMAX @ Maryland Science Center, which offers a mix of family friendly films and popular first run titles. They even have shows that match up with a particular exhibit to give you the “big picture”. Enjoy a full season of orchestra programs at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, or live theater at Baltimore Centerstage. Another one of our favorite spots is the National Aquarium Science Center.
